Where your donations go :
Romny (population c.40,000) is a small agricultural city in Sumy, Ukraine about 100km from the Russian border. It is not under direct fire from the Russian invasion, so has seen a wave of refugees from more dangerous nearby cities. Most employers have pulled out of the area because of its proximity to Russia, so a large percentage of locals have lost their jobs, and are now without income. Both of these factors are combining to create a crisis in this already poor city.
Impuls has paired with local social workers and a monastery to provide those in need with essentials, such as staple foods and basic toiletries. We are focussing first on those worst affected by the deprivations of war – predominantly large families and the elderly. Our ongoing support is urgently necessary to keep many of Romny’s local and adopted population out of poverty.
